🧠 Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, TY students will:
Understand the role of a first aider and how to keep themselves safe
Learn how to call 112 / 999 and communicate effectively with emergency services
Respond to choking, bleeding, burns, fainting, and head injuries
Recognise signs of life-threatening conditions such as stroke, seizures, and cardiac arrest
Perform CPR and use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
Place someone in the recovery position and provide reassurance
Know how to help in real-life emergencies while awaiting professional help
Leave with the confidence to step up when someone needs help
📅 Duration
Flexible to suit your school's needs:- Mini Workshop – 2 hours
- Half Day – 3.5 hours
- Full Day – 6 hours (includes breaks, scenarios, and certification tasks)
- Delivered on-site in your school or TY hub
🎓 Certification
Students receive a Safeguard Training Certificate of Participation – TY First Aid
Ideal for TY Portfolios, Gaisce Awards, and future work placement applications
