This specially designed Transition Year First Aid course introduces students to essential, practical life-saving skills that every young person should know. Through engaging hands-on activities, demonstrations, and real-life scenarios, students learn how to respond confidently to common emergencies and understand their power to save lives.

Tailored for the TY curriculum, this workshop helps students build confidence, awareness, and a sense of social responsibility while equipping them with first aid skills they can use at home, in school, or out with friends. It's the ultimate blend of education, empowerment, and action.

    🧠 Learning Outcomes

    By the end of this course, TY students will:

    Understand the role of a first aider and how to keep themselves safe

    Learn how to call 112 / 999 and communicate effectively with emergency services

    Respond to choking, bleeding, burns, fainting, and head injuries

    Recognise signs of life-threatening conditions such as stroke, seizures, and cardiac arrest

    Perform CPR and use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) 

    Place someone in the recovery position and provide reassurance

    Know how to help in real-life emergencies while awaiting professional help

    Leave with the confidence to step up when someone needs help
